Inmate Could Get More Time In Prison

Blair County —

A federal inmate's three-hour interlude to

meet a girlfriend could cost him as many as five more years in

prison. Thirty-four-year-old Edward Calloway pleaded guilty

Tuesday to escaping from a Blair County Federal Prison Camp with

another inmate. The two left the facility to visit their girlfriends at a nearby hotel on November 10th. Calloway, who is serving 12 and a half years for

drug possession, admitted slipping away from the prison camp.

Federal Prosecutors say Calloway and the other inmate tried to

schedule their interludes between head counts at the prison but

were caught on their way back in. The camp is located outside the

prison fence, and is generally used to hold less-dangerous

inmates.
