JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Fatula said it's personal. Fatula said he's had problems with supervisors and many issues in the past and this was a way to get rid of him.
Township manager Dave Hirko said the township has budget problems and this was the solution.
Hirko said the profit the township gets from its landfill isn't nearly as much as it was in the past. Hirko said the township will not fill the chief position because it's a lay off, and it's possible that Fatula could get called back in.
Fatula told WJAC-TV he'll now lose his health and pension benefits a year before he was going to retire.
