Jay Township Water Safe To Drink, Officials Say

The Jay Township Water Authority in Elk County said water there is safe to drink.

The announcement came after the Department of Environmental Protection released an evaluation done last year saying there were turbidity problems at the water plant.

The report prompted residents to question the safety of their drinking water, but township officials said it's fine to drink the water without filtering or boiling it.
