The resident was awaken around 3 a.m. to a beeping noise. The 84-year-old man who was sleeping in a chair got up to find his home filled with smoke.
Battling arthritis for years and rarely walking, the man walked to two neighbors homes for help.
Multiple crews responded to the blaze.
The home is now unlivable and the investigation continues.
