OLIVEBURG, Pa. —
The Burkett General Store has operated in the village of Oliveburg for more than 90 years since opened in 1916 and houses the community's post office.
The store's owner, 82-year-old Lucille Burkett, has decided to retire.
The post office will also close at the end of September.
Postal officials said Oliveburg will keep its ZIP code.
Cluster mailboxes will be installed in the town to distribute mail.
Residents also have the option of home delivery, officials said.
The Oliveburg post office will close on Sept. 29.
A retirement party is planned for Lucille Burkett the following day.
