W.S. Lee got one of the state's new strategic sourcing initiatives, which means $250 million to supply food to all departments of state government, including the prisons, veterans' homes, etc. Governor Ed Rendell says in addition, twelve other contracts will help save taxpayers nearly $118 million a year. W.S. Lee officials say because they've already leased out the old Fleming warehouse, it's expected that most of the work will gear up around the end of the year.
