Johnstown firefighters help make inspirational teen's dream a reality

By WJAC Web Staff

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

A local teen lived out his dream on Tuesday with the help of Johnstown firefighters.

Fire trucks rushed through the city's streets, not to battle a blaze but to inspire Christopher Boring, who has Down syndrome.

Christopher says he wanted to be a firefighter for as long as he can remember. To make his dream a reality, the Johnstown Fire Department hooked him up with gear and let him fight pretend flames.

Christopher will also take part in the Guns and Hoses hockey game at the War Memorial this Saturday, when city's fire department will take on city police and EMS crews after the Tomahawks game.
