Johnstown house fire ruled arson

By WJAC Web Staff

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

Johnstown fire officials said last weekend's fire in a vacant home along Menoher Boulevard was intentionally set.

Johnstown's fire chief said the blaze was started in a back room on the second floor of the house. Neighbors said someone had been inside the home within the past month doing remodeling work.

"The whole time before they started remodeling, nobody bothered that house. Now as soon as they started working on it, it catches on fire," said neighbor David Myers.

As of Thursday, there was no information about any possible suspects. Johnstown police are handling the arson investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
