Johnstown Leaders Set To Appeal Court For Commuter Tax

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

Leaders in Johnstown are heading to court asking judges for permission to tax people who work in the city.

Cities in dire financial circumstances marked distressed are allowed to use this tax.

The tax is on both non-resident and residents who work in the city.

City leaders said it produces more than $700,000 and is a crucial part of the city's budget.

Leaders will make their appeal to judges on Friday. Stay with WJACTV.com and WJAC-TV News for continuing coverage.
