Johnstown man recovering from stabbing; roommate facing charges

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. --


A Johnstown man is recovering and a suspect was arrested after a stabbing over the weekend.

Police said George Zamias Jr. is accused of stabbing his roommate, Robert Bartoli, after a verbal argument on Berkley Road in Upper Yoder Township on Saturday night.

Zamias is accused of hitting Bartoli over the head with a beer bottle, slashing his neck and chest with a knife, and stabbing Bartoli in the chest.

Zamias is facing charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.

Investigators said Bartoli's injuries are not life-threatening.
