Johnstown Neighborhood Meetings Held

Johnstown —

Johnstown city officials are holding 3 neighborhood meetings this month to hear from you. The discussions will focus on neighborhood needs like housing, economic development, transportation, and community facilities among many other things.

Red Pinizzotto, a Johnstown Councilman, tells Channel 6 News, "When [residents] come to the council meetings we refer them to the department heads. I would suspect the same thing will happen at these meetings. The department head will pick up the complaints and try and do something about them."

Residents living in downtown Johnstown, Prospect, Woodvale, and Conemaugh Borough meet one-on-one with city officials Wednesday night at 7 at the Somerset Trust Company on Market Street

Kathy Diffenderfer lives in Johnstown. She tells Channel 6 News what she would say at these meetings, "There's a lot of buildings that need torn down. Empty buildings. And some kind of center or something put in for people to do."

Troy Childers of Johnstown says, "Probably more things for young people to do than the bar scene. Try having concert on the weekends and a place to study.

There will be another meeting at New Day Incorporated on August 23rd.
