Johnstown Police Force Now Up Two Active Officers

Johnstown city leaders agreed to bring back two laid-off officers at their Wednesday night meeting.

The city manager, chief of police, and finance director tallied up all of the overtime spent on police officers and it totaled around $58,000. They agreed it only made sense to bring back the laid off officers.

However, these officers will be filling positions that are vacant. They are not filling new positions.

While the amount of overtime will decrease by bringing these officers back. There will still be an overtime problem because last year with an even larger force they encountered problems.
