Johnstown Residents Could Pay More For Trash Services

The trash situation in Johnstown could lead to an increase in your bill. The Tribune Democrat reports city officials are discussing whether to end taxpayer subsidized trash collection, because of the drain on its finances. Johnstown Officials say the service is costing the city one-hundred-thousand dollars each year just to send bills and collect payments. The change may mean the $119 dollars paid by residents could nearly double, and some fear it will lead to an increase in illegal trash dumping.
