Johnstown Skate Park

Parents Speak Out

Johnstown —

Parents of skateboarders came together on Sunday afternoon to voice their opinions over the limited time their kids can spend in the West End skate park. The parks hours changed from dawn until dusk to noon until six. Parents said the six hours don't give their kids enough time to enjoy their favorite sport. The recent time changes came after neighbors voiced their concerns to Johnstown City Council. Neighbors said the park is causing too much noise at all the wrong hours. Johnstown's Recreation Director Cliff Kitner said the new hours are subject to change following a new plan he, the City Manager, and Public Works Director are working on to please both neighbors and skateboarders.
