Judge grants last-minute delay for sentencing of convicted drive-by shooter

By Bill Wadell

BELLEFONTE, Pa. —

A Centre County judge granted a last minute continuance for a Centre County man convicted of attempted homicide and jury tampering charges earlier this year.

A jury found Randall Brooks guilty of the 2009 drive-by shooting of his former girlfriend’s lover.

The shooting victim, Matthew Ross, has since recovered from his injuries and has filed a civil suit against Brooks.

Brooks, who represented himself during the trial, requested legal representation for his sentencing on the charges, which is expected to be scheduled in the next two weeks.
