Judge Refuses To Reduce Sentence

Blair County —

He held police at bay for hours inside his girlfriend's house, then came out with a gun and police shot him. Now, a Blair County judge who heard the case has refused to reduce Hiram Guzman's 30 to 60 year prison sentence. Guzman's attorney argued that he should have sentenced him only for possessing a firearm rather than using one, because the gun he had didn't work. His attorney also contended that Guzman knew the gun didn't work and he was attempting to have the police kill him.
