Judges Choose Memorial Design

Somerset County —

Judges have been mulling over thousands of submissions for the Flight 93 Memorial. It is estimated that the hours of labor put into all of these proposals would equal 20 years of labor for one person on a 40-hour work week.

That's a lot for the 10-person jury to mull over. Included in the group, are 3 family members, landscape architects, regular architects, educators and journalists. Judges say they were impressed by the turnout and say this project is unlike many other memorials because of the large amount of land they have to work with in Somerset county.
