Keeping Smut Out Of One Area Community

Jackson Township Passes Amendment

Cambria County —

The Jackson Township supervisors voted unanimously to adopt an amendment making it tougher for adult businesses to open shop in their community. The vote came Thursday night at the Township's Senior Center. The community and the Alliance of Churches have worked very hard to get the measure passed.

Supervisor Bruce Baker said that he was very pleased with the way the community and the Alliance of Churches handled the situation.

Although the amendment is not full proof, it will make it tougher for adult oriented businesses to locate within the township. The next order of business will be to tackle the zoning ordinance as a whole. Many residents have voiced their opposition, citing that it's too restrictive. The next meeting of the supervisors is scheduled for December 30th.
