Knife Lodged In Baby's Head

A Venango County woman is facing assault and child endangerment charges after throwing a butter knife that got lodged in her baby's head. Police say Samantha Hoffman, of Oil City, was actually throwing the knife at her boyfriend, but it hit the six-month old baby instead. The child was flown to Pittsburgh's Children's Hospital in critical condition. The family has asked that no other details be released. Hoffman is free on bail and is awaiting a hearing next week.
