More delays in opening a long awaited Krispy Kreme Donut store in the State College area. The hold up continues to involve a couple of residents who don't want to move out of the proposed construction site. The issue is now in court, with a timeline that's crumbling like the tasty donuts. That's how the attorney for the developers answers the question, when are the Krispy Kremes coming to town. The battle is this property along North Atherton Street targeted for the Kremes and two other businesses. Most of the residents have left, but there's two hold outs, they don't want to move their homes claiming the move would damage them. The developer took them to trial, but the court proceedings were interrupted and its not certain when they'll resume. Plans for the development with the Kreme store are complete with drive thru already approved by Patton Township. They like the rest of us are now on the sidelines.
