Kwanzaa Begins

JOHNSTOWN —

Today is the first day of Kwanzaa, a time for African American people to reaffirm their ancestors and culture. Kwanzaa was founded in 1966 and is observed by more than 18 million people worldwide including some right here in Johnstown.

Kwanzaa is observed from December 26th to January 1st with seven guiding principles, one for each day.
