Legal Action Considered On Girard-Goshen Elementary Roof

GIRARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

The Clearfield Area School District is looking into legal action in regard to structural problems at one elementary school.

The Girard-Goshen Elementary School was closed last year after problems were discovered in the building's roof.

The district has hired a Pittsburgh law firm to look into the issues.

They're estimating repairs to the building's roof will cost around $1.5 million. But officials have not set a timetable for construction or the reopening of that elementary school.

The elementary school was built in 2002.

Students from Girard-Goshen were transferred to Clearfield Elementary School.

Residents admit there is still some concern in the community about the school closure. They're hoping the school reopens as soon as possible.
