Local bank assists high school with upgrades for sports complex

By Brittany Boyer

CLEARFIELD, Pa. —

The Clearfield Area High School is undergoing major changes this fall.

For the last several months crews have been working on upgrades to the Bison sports complex.

Crews have also been hard at work on a huge renovation project pertaining to the high school.

This summer the football field and surrounding track had major work done.

A project that cost just over $1 million was completed to upgrade the field.

Clearfield Area School District superintendent, Dr.Thomas Otto said that the football field had drainage problems.

Due to these problems, the field often became what some referred to as a "mud pit" on rainy days.

This became a bigger problem when the football team had home football games when it rained.

After a few months of work the new turf field has been installed.

The surrounding track was also worked on.

Otto said that a local business also assisted the school district with making changes to its sports complex.

On Wednesday, school officials held a dedication to honor and thank CNB Bank for its contributions to the sports complex.

The bank raised money to secure a new scoreboard and to have C-H-S and Bison pained on the field.

School officials said they are thankful for the support of CNB Bank.
