Local Dealer Calling Cash For Clunkers A Success

The government program that gives cash for gas guzzling clunkers so drivers can buy new fuel efficient cars has done so well the program has run out of money. Even though "Cash For Clunkers" has some quirks, a local dealer who has reaped the benefits hopes the incentive will stick around a little while longer.

Buyers have a lot of questions about the program, but their curiosity is turning into sales. Laurel Auto Group has sold 30 new fuel efficient cars in less than a week thanks to the program.

Funding for the billion dollar program is almost empty, but the U.S. House of Representatives has voted to give $2 billion in additional funding so it can continue.

The Senate is set to vote on funding for the program sometime next week. The White House said the program can continue through the weekend.
