Local group that searches for lost treasure will be on national TV show

By Brittany Boyer

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

A local group from Clearfield County that searches for lost treasure will be on national TV Friday night.

Finders Keepers was started by Dennis Parada and his son Kem.

In the company's first two years they found three of the largest lost treasure sites in Pennsylvania.

The group is most well known locally for their search for gold in Dents Run which is in Elk County.

While the group is well known for their searches locally, they are taking their skills outside of the United States.

During the fall the group traveled to Nova Scotia to shoot a show that would air on the History Channel.

Finders Keepers went to Nova Scotia to search for the Knight's Templar Treasure.

"When you have cameras and you have to do a lot of script and people are all around you, it's a totally different picture," Dennis Parada said.

For more than 600 years people across the world have been searching for the Knight's Templar Treasure. Some people have even devoted their lives to searching for it.

"What happened to the Nights Templar has been one of the greatest mysteries. I think with the information we provided on this last trip, I think we'll bring this hunt to an end," Dennis Parada said.

Due to a talent agreement with the History Channel, Finders Keepers could not give any secrets about the show.

They did tell 6 News that they will be going back to Canada in the future.

"We can't say exactly for sure what we located. But I'll say this, it was enough for us to open up Finders Keepers as a legal business in Canada. We're planning many return trips. We're going to be there for a while," Kem Parada said.

The show will be on tonight, March 15 at 10 p.m. on the H2 channel.
