Local Democrats said Sen. Hilary Clinton's speech at the national convention accomplished what it should have: uniting the party.
"I think the role of Sen. Clinton last night was to speak to the delegation and bring us together -- be the role of the big sister," said Pennsylvania Delegate Monica Kline, who is in Denver for the convention. "We've got to keep fighting as a party. We've got to press on."
State College Democratic Chair Greg Stewart, who is also at the convention, called Clinton's speech "great."
"I think she did what she needed to do," Stewart said.
During her speech, Clinton told the party that it is time to unite with one single purpose: to help Sen. Barack Obama become the next president of the United States.
Clinton said the country can't afford another White House with a Republican in it.
Both Stewart and Kline said they were pleased with Clinton and her supporters in Denver.
