Local Reaction To State Of The Union Speech

Centre County —

There was plenty of reaction to President Bush's State of the Union address Wednesday night. For the most part, reaction fell along party lines. Both Republican and Democratic Penn State students watched the speech from the HUB building on campus. Upwards of 50 students gathered around the big screen television in the HUB to watch the speech, paying very close attention to what the president said.

Mr. Bush addressed both international and domestic issues. He talked about the war in Iraq as well as health care and education. The president's supporters praised the speech, while his opponents criticized it. This was Mr. Bush's 5th State of the Union address.
