Local Trail Hitting The National Map

The Path of the Flood Trail is officially on the national map. Rep. John Murtha was on hand in Cambria County for a special dedication Tuesday.

The scenic trail marks the historic route of the 1889 Johnstown flood. It along with 22 other trails in 13 states is part of the United States National Trails Systems. The organization recognizes trails that connect people to local resources and history.

National Park officials said Rep. Murtha is working to secure an earmark for about $800,000 to help complete the project of connecting smaller trails together.
