Local University Labeled Military Friendly

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown has been designated a military friendly school by G.I. Jobs.

The designation is reserved for the top 15 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools in the United States that are reaching out to veterans as students.

In May, UPJ launched what it calls the "Mountain Cat Veterans Program" to assist vets in making the transition to college.

UPJ President Dr. Jem Spectar said the school has "tremendous respect and appreciation for our military veterans."
