Stay of Execution Issued For Clearfield County Murderer

By WJAC Web Staff

DuBOIS, Pa. —

A stay of execution was handed down Monday night for a convicted killer on death row in Pennsylvania. 40-year-old Daniel Crispell's execution was set for October 19th at SCI Rockview, but last night, officials with the State Department of Corrections confirmed for WJAC that a stay was ordered. The Clearfield county man kidnapped Ella Brown from the DuBois mall nearly 22 years ago and killed her. Governor Corbett just signed Crispell's death warrant 4 weeks ago. The last execution in the state was in 1999.
