Locals Help Prep For Gustav

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. —

Some emergency crews from the Alleghenies were headed south on Saturday to help prepare for Hurricane Gustav's arrival along the Gulf Coast.

Four E.M.S. workers from Meyersdale, Somerset County, are joining a group of first responders to provide aid in Louisiana. They left Friday night with an ambulance from the Meyersdale Area Ambulance Association.

So far, there are 20 people from the Alleghenies going to the southern states to help.

Hurricane Gustav made landfall in western Cuba Saturday evening as a strong category four storm.
