After 20 years in office, Blair County Sheriff Larry Field said he's ready to retire.
Field, 71, is the county's longest-serving sheriff.
He made the announcement during Tuesday morning's county commissioners' meeting.
"I just feel it's time it's time to hang it up and let someone else… take over," Field said.
Field said he came to the decision last weekend after talking with his wife, family and the commissioners.
