Looking Better And Younger Quicker

Johnstown —

In the time it takes to get a check up at your doctor, you can make your face look better and younger. You don't have to leave the area to do it or worry about surgery!

Dr. Paul Rollins is a Plastic Surgeon at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. He said, "Recently a lot of the procedures are small that are not very invasive. There's a lot of products that we have to use that tend to improve the overall appearance of the patients." Dr. Rollins sees patients of all ages getting plastic surgery for both medical and cosmetic reasons. Monday afternoon he performed a chemical peel to make one of his patients look younger. It's one of the most popular and easy. Dr. Rollins said, "Superficial peels, the ones that can be done on a weekly basis and takes about 10 to 15 minutes to administer, there's no problem with regards to scarring."

Other plastic surgery procedures that are popular ones are, of course, the chemical peel that takes care of your fine wrinkles, skin discoloring and skin texture. Then there's derm abrasion. Dr. Rollins sands the surface of your skin to remove any unevenness. Filler procedures inject substances like collagen into your wrinkles.

Thinking of being the next one in Dr. Rollins chair because you have skin problems? You have to be a good candidate. Do you have fine wrinkles? Sun damage? Blotches? Get the procedure done now or wait. Dr. Rollins suggests, "if it's done in the middle of the summer months that can be a bit more problematic for some patients especially if you're doing a lot more of the invasive procedures. The recovery time may be a bit longer."

Patients who have plastic surgery need to use sunscreen afterwards to prevent any more damage to their face. If you want to do this, insurance can cover it as a medical procedure but not as cosmetic one. But check with your carrier first.
