MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Local Woman Gives Away Clothes For People In Need

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. —

WJAC received an e-mail from a viewer telling us about an amazing woman who lives along Million Dollar Highway outside of Jennerstown. For the last few years, word has been spreading about her makeshift thrift store.

Viola Saylor, along with her daughter and husband, have been busy stocking the tent in their front yard every spring and summer for the past two years. She has clothes of all sizes for men, women and children. It's all free.

The Saylors make a weekly trip to Saint Vincent DePaul in Latrobe to restock their supply.

Saylor gets no compensation but she said for her, just knowing she is making a difference is enough.

"I really like to help people," said Saylor. "I know what the economy is like today and a lot of people need help."

The Saylor's store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
