The collapse happened at Georgian Place, an outlet mall. Officials said the large section of roof that collapsed was vacant and there were no reported injuries.
Property representative Tonya Spangler said snow was piled about 4 feet on top of the roof. She said they had someone contracted to clear the snow Wednesday, but the collapse happened before crews arrived.
Building inspectors said the other buildings around the roof collapse are sound and contractors were clearing snow from the rest of the mall's roof Wednesday morning.
