ELK COUNTY, Pa. —
Police in Elk County have charged a man they say intentionally set his father's house on fire.
Steven Hulings is accused of setting the house on Lynch Road in St. Marys on fire on July 14. The home, where Hulings' father and stepmother lived, was destroyed.
Hulings is charged with arson and other felonies.
No one was injured in the blaze, which started around 4 a.m. A police report said Laurie Hulings was the only person who currently lived at the home at the time of the blaze.
Laurie Hulings was left without a place to stay after the blaze gutted the home. Neighbors said they didn't see anything suspicious the night of the arson.
There were about a half-dozen arsons in Elk County over the summer, but police said Steven Hulings is not considered a suspect in any others.
As of Thursday, he remained in the Elk County Prison and his bail had not been set. Stay with 6 News, WJACTV.com and WJACTV.com Mobile for continuing coverage.
