Man dies in Clearfield Co. house fire

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —


Officials are seeking the cause of a house fire in Clearfield County on Thursday that claimed a man’s life.

The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. at a home on Lawrence Avenue in Lawrence Township.

Pennsylvania State Police at the Clearfield barracks said the fire started in the living room area but the cause has not been determined.

As of Friday morning, officials had not released the name of the victim pending notification of family.

Police told 6 News that foul play is not suspected, and a state police fire marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.

Troopers said damage to the residence is estimated at about $30,000.
