By WJAC Web Staff

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

A Cambria County man was sentenced to 5 to 12 years in jail on a list of charges including vehicular homicide.

Michael Sherwood pleaded guilty in January to being involved in a double-fatal DUI crash in October 2010.

Investigators say Sherwood was under the influence of methadone when his pickup truck crossed the center line on Route 271 in Northern Cambria and crashed head-on into Dick and Lois Davis' car, officials said.

The Davises were on their way home from the grocery store, officials said. Lois Davis died at the scene and Dick Davis died a few weeks later in the hospital.

Sherwood was also ordered to pay more than $11,000 in restitution.
