West Hills police in Cambria County said they are awaiting test results before filing any charges against 20-year-old Seth Philips in connection with Wednesday's wild ride in the Johnstown area.
Police said Philips was speeding on Goucher Street when his sport utility vehicle struck a utility pole, ripping it out of the ground.
The crash shut down the busy roadway until early Thursday.
Police said Philips also damaged property by driving through several yards.
Philips was taken to the hospital with injuries.
