Lawrence Lampel, 37, of Johnstown, is charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
The boy was playing in a soccer tournament Sunday when he was shot in the shoulder with a .22-caliber gun.
The child was treated at a local hospital and released in good condition.
Authorities are still investigating the shooting.
