Man Who Defrauded Elderly Woman Free On Bond

Related

A Somerset County man convicted of tricking an elderly woman out of more than $500,000 is free on bond until he is sentenced.

On Wednesday, a Cambria County jury found 55-year-old Frank Solensky guilty of 18 counts in connection with defrauding a 94-year-old woman.

Investigators said Solensky would conjure up a to-do list and charge the victim exorbitant amounts of money to do the jobs. The victim said she trusted Solensky and called him "the son she never had."

Because Solensky posted additional bond, he is allowed to remain free until his Sept. 1 sentencing. Prosecutors had wanted his bond revoked and argued he is a flight risk.

Solensky, who was the woman's caretaker, faces eight to 16 years in prison or more if a judge imposes consecutive sentences.
