By Melanie Gillespie

MEYERSDALE, Pa. —

State police investigators were called out to a home in Somerset County overnight Wednesday.

Police say they received a complaint from a concerned landlord, and after searching the home, clandestine lab teams were called in.

The state police lab team came prepared and fully suited in coveralls, masks and gloves when arriving to Meyersdale in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

Meyersdale borough police took a call from the landlord who owns the property on Celtic Lane.

He told police he became concerned after smelling a pungent odor coming from inside the home.

The landlord told police he believed something suspicious was going on inside.

After a walk through, borough police found materials inside conducive of manufacturing meth.

State police forensic scientists were called in to search the home, under it and through it.

A possible, suspected meth production being investigated just feet away from where children play.

Police said it could take up to a week for results, but if positive, it could be one of the first active meth labs in the Meyersdale area.
