Meyersdale Resident Becomes Car Theft Victim

MEYERSDALE, Pa. —

The Meyersdale Police Department locate a car stolen from Maryland at a church on Beachley Avenue. Police said the car was stolen by two escaped juveniles.

As officers set up a perimeter around the church Tuesday night, one of the teens took off on foot in the neighborhoods of Meyersdale, police said. Police told WJAC-TV the teen from Meyersdale was the only one in the church.

Taryn Moore lives in view of the church and saw the whole incident happened.

Moore said police chased the fugitive through several yards, and that's when she and her mother went to lock up their vehicles.

Moore thought she locked her SUV, but when she came home from work Wednesday morning, it was stolen. Police aren't linking this theft to the fugitive now, but Moore said the teen is to blame.

The car is described as a 2007 Ford Edge silver and has license plate number GJP-6508.

Call police if with any details that can help this investigation.
