BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. —

Blair County's mental health program has lost $2.5 million since 2005 despite having one of the most active crisis centers in Pennsylvania.

Now, there are even more funding cuts looming. The department will have 10 percent of its budget cut this year, which is about $400,000.

In addition, the Intellectual Disabilities branch of the department is losing $140,000.

Officials said they will need to make some adjustments.

Jim Hudack of Blair Mental Health said, "We are getting away from early intervention and prevention and we have to prioritize those with the most significant need(s), supplying what we can in the shortest amount of time possible."

The crisis ward is at Altoona Regional and officials told 6 News the hospital will feel a trickle-down effect because it has to adapt to less money.
