More Preparation for Sandy

By Rich Wisniewski

DUBOIS, Pa —

It's hard to believe that with the way the weather was the past week, that the state of Pennsylvania is bracing for a hurricane, which could bring rain, snow and heavy winds.

"I don't think it's going to be as bad as they say it's going to be," said Channing Glenn, from Sigel.

Emergency officials want you to be prepared; many suggest having an emergency kit in case of a power outage.

While many hardware stores have already started putting out rock salts and filling their shelves with batteries and flashlights. But residents like Glenn, aren't to worried.

"I have a generator, so I just need some gasoline and I'll be fine," he jokes.

But generators are becoming a lot harder to come by.

" The big question of the day: 'do you have any generators?'" said Alex Anto, who works at Kohlhepps Hardware Store in DuBois.

They have been getting calls about generators for the past 24 hours, but the answer to whether or not they have them right now:

"No," said Anto, who added, generators are in such high demand right now, that even the warehouse that ships them to the stores has sold out.
