Mother Speaks Out About Racial Intimidation Against Her Son

WESTMONT, Pa. —

Bridgett Bailey-Fletcher told WJAC-TV that her son Keith is a victim of racial bullying.

Since the family moved from Philadelphia to Johnstown in March, Fletcher said other students have been calling him racial slurs at school and over the phone.

The latest incident involves a 15-year-old student sending a picture text that shows a brown beer bottle hanging like a noose and three beer cans resembling the Ku Klux Klan.

West Hills police Chief Andy Havas said the 15-year-old admitted to sending the picture and called it a joke. Havas said the juveile is facing racial intimidation charges.

School officials are aware of this incident and said they will be looking into it further.
