Mount Union Police Dept. mourning loss of K-9 officer

MOUNT UNION, Pa. —

The Mount Union Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

K-9 officer, Saxon, was born in 2002 at a Pennsylvania Kennel.

Saxon was hand picked by Officer Swineford and Corporal Lippman to be the next canine officer.

Saxon was trained in drug detection and was a patrol dog since 2003.

He retired in 2011.

Saxon passed away on Friday.
