Mt. Nittany Medical Center expanding to meet patients' needs

By WJAC Web Staff

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. —

A Centre County hospital is undergoing a major expansion project that hospital officials say is necessary due to the aging population in the county.

The Mount Nittany Medical Center has been doing construction for years, and the newest project will result in new operating rooms as well as more space for pre- and post-operative care.

Hospital officials said patient demand is increasing and the needs of those patients are becoming more complex.

The hospital also plans to open a separate medical facility in nearby Ferguson Township.
