Municipalities Begin Patching Potholes

Salt prices skyrocketed this winter forcing many municipalities to tighten their budget so it would have money for spring cleanup projects like patching potholes.

Crews were out in Somerset Borough and Johnstown patching, Wednesday.

It has been an expensive winter. The price of salt went up around 60 percent. Somerset Borough was cautions of how and when it used the mineral.

Somerset Borough will start accepting bids for paving the roads. The borough may not pave every road but nothing that would put the public at risk.
