Most said it was successful during last nights snow fall. Both Somerset Borough and the city of Johnstown said they used the mixture last night and had no problems.
Officials do warn drivers to be cautious even when the roads are clear.
Richland Township has always used the mixture. Officials say the only downside to using it is they have to clean it all up come spring time. No clean up is necessary with salt.
